Build Your Action Plan

After a long day without fluids and food it is important to break fast correctly. Your body has been deprived of food and water, which puts it at a point dehydration and your sugar levels would have hit a low. So, it is crucial to slowly hydrate your body as well as slowly lift your sugar levels prior to your meals
Four key steps when breaking fast:
  1. Start off by drinking 2 glasses of water to rehydrate your body.
  1. Consume 1-2 dates or a piece of fruit to gradually raise your low sugar levels.
  1. Don’t overload yourself with food immediately. Start off by taking in a small bowl of soup. Or opt for a generous amount of salad either alone or along with your soup. Eating too much right away can cause your digestive system to feel overworked. This overload causes heartburn, constipation or diarrhea and makes you feel sluggish.
  1. Finish with Main Meal. Make you sure you consume one type of protein with your meal. This can be either a piece of fish, chicken or beef/lamb. Don’t forget to include vegetables with your meal. Not only are they enriched with vitamins and minerals you missed during the day, but they are also enriched with fiber that keep you feeling satisfied.
